Natural Environment

The estate features wetlands, coastal heath, littoral rainforest and coastal dunes which support a rich and healthy biodiversity

The estate encompasses 111 hectares of diverse habitats  bounded by state reserves and a marine national park, fronting a strip of 1.5 km of Seven Mile Beach. It's subtropical location in the Mount Warning caldera provides the estate with a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Littoral rainforest, coastal heath, wetlands, coastal dunes and native wildlife feature prominently in daily life at Linnaeus. The Estate aims to preserve the natural features of the site, restore habitat and wildlife corridors and implement ongoing coastal, wetland and environmental care programs.

The Trail Guidebook and Estate Nature Guidebook, based on detailed surveys of the estate, accompanies the six kilometre walking trail which threads through the estate, providing insights into the flora, fauna, geology and natural history of the area.
